What's wrong with being a deaf/mute? I'm still alive and able to enjoy life and write my novels, so where's the downside? Seriously, what's with treating being deaf/mute like it's a bad thing? Such narrow-mindedness and bias!

I don't think that the amount of time you are deaf is an option, even in the best scenarios. A cochlear would be your best bet.

Even deaf musician can create classic pieces of music. So deaf to an author is nothing. He can use his novel to show his fantastic ideas.
