This means that you CAN. Not that you have too. Plus, you could use it to save their life. So, if used correctly, these powers are very good.

For numbers between zero and one we still use the plural (examples: 0 dollars, 0.23 seconds) so the family members or friends in question could lose zero or close to zero of their lifetimes. Plus it"s worth it just to have the ability.
