@Nasho, you can go to different gyms in Scarlet and Violet. However, you can’t “get past the first gym”, meaning that you can’t beat it, according to the downside. So you could theoretically get 7 total gym badges plus the 10 others. However, you need all 8 gym badges to finish the game. So…

Nevermind the gyms, there are other ways to become a pokemon master. You just can't gain the title, unless you can manage to contact and battle the champion in some different way. Besides, I got's freakin' POKEMANZ!!

In the first game you can glitch past the first gym and don't even have to beat it. Also, Sun and Moon don't have gyms.

To pass the 1st gym means you cant beat it, this is not the games, you can still travel to other gyms. Just tell them that you cant go to the 1st gym

If Pokemon were real I would hate to use them in fighting because that would be really traumatizing, I mean think about it. No downfall for me here :)
