Too risky. What if the power isn't even worth the downside. You get the ability to give squirrels salads in an instant, but they have you as dessert.

I'mma click it, 'cause it's kinda like a cursed technique. The downside could just be you feeling tired or not able to do it often. Take my Hollow Purple for example. If I used it continuously, it's make me feel real tired (however I can just use my reverse cursed technique, haha)

When the downside only applies when you use the ability we call that a "free power". Even if the downside is substantial, you can save it for emergencies.

This isn't a real dilemma. If the downside sucks you can just choose to not use the ability. So many buttons have the worse case scenario of pressing be the same as not pressing which just makes the dilemma pointless.

ability: controlled shift -allows the user to turn into an animal of their choice -downside: someone will be stuck as that same animal for the rest of their life, and (presuming there is resurrection) will be reborn as that animal.
