Any normal person would think "Oh shit, I don't wanna kill my family", just like I did, but the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, so if you were a selfless (but heartless) person, you would push this button. This is a pretty psychological question.

I'm assuming that your killing your family in order to provide food for the hungry, or your killing everyone since in a way were all related, at some point, whatever the first cell was, evolved and eventually came to be everything or something like that.
