But if I press the button I’ll have to relive the pain of losing my favorite character, like, I just started to accept the fact that they’re dead, but now I’ll have to go through that whole painful denial stage all over again, granted I don’t die before two years have passed.

The master chief. His armor is super durable and plus they never said how the characters die. They die yes but not specified deaths are total loopholes. Master chiefs armor provides medicine to help. No biggy his suit will revive him.
