If I'm king, that means the palace is protected. If it's protected, no intruders could get in. If they do, guards are near me so they can't kill me. If the guards try to kill me, I'll kill them first. It's self-defence so I won't feel guilty.

You can quit before the 10 years. They only said that you will be king or quenn, the didnt say you have to be it forever. And dont say that yoy would still be beheaded after the 10 years are over, they said 10 years of ruling, that means that aslong you dont rule for 10 years you will survive
