I'd prefer a glider to a parachute, since it would probably be easier to carry around and deploy, given some modifications.

I don't see why you wouldn't press it. It doesn't say: "You HAVE to fly". If you have the power, you have it, you don't have to use it. (You never know when the airplane you're in clashes, but when it does at least you have a chance to save your own life)
