That's too bad. It feels like crossing the past and knowing in advance that you will die [or die worthless]. Unless you really have no hope for your present life or are confident that you will survive through the past, most people will not die.

With time travel magic (which exists there - like time-turners) I could live out a life of a nearly infinite amount of time and do just about anything I want, and I'd have magic to boot. I'd never even HAVE to get to the Battle of Hogwarts.
