Pressing the button guarantees that your legs don't get cut off, but not pressing it gives you a chance of not losing anything.

It never said the madman would attack if you don't press the button, only that they will if you do press it. Therefore, I will not press the button, and I will keep my legs and my thumbs.

Fething- Don't push this button, it SPAWNS the madman that it prevents from cutting off your legs. It doesn't prevent the amputation if you don't push it because there'd be nothing to prevent.

Dealing with prosthetic thumbs is way easier than being stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of your life. Also you"re gonna need your legs to run away from the madman
