No downside. I have a super modded nes controller that can change it's port so I can use it to multiple consoles and pc, and has all the buttons we need for hl3.

I don't care about half life series but i like the nes controll.Then again:I'm probably going to regret this because the xbox controls have advanced a lot in terms of 3d mobility.
