become virtuoso at favorite instrument, choose very similar instrument to play (i.e. instrument is violin, play a different string instrument), become famous.

No downside here for me. I don't play an instrument, but I would like to be able to play one. I also don't have ambitions to become famous. I will just be me but I would have obtained an extra talent.
