If there is no book, they can't make a freaking movie out of it. Therefore, why not get a book? After all, not pressing it also means no book OR movie is made of a book otherwise non-existent.

This has already happened many times over with fanfiction however J.K.R. didn't write them and they change the canon in most cases which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Would it matter? It's like the glass half full or empty. In this case the content is going in a mixture of two liquids. The movie liquid, and the book liquid. Would you rather dump no liquid, or 1 liquid into the pile?
