Discovering aliens wouldnt be good at all! Just look at humans, we want to conquer and be be best, so they would probably do the same and try to conquer earth and they are probably more evolved then us so they would just conquer earth!!!

Space is an Infinite Space, You can go try to go pass the believed edge of space you will keep floating on (Although By the time you reach it you would be dead) Also a Multiverse May be beyond our universe like we used to think that we were the only solar system.
