Actually, pressing the button might be saving a preexisting baby from a house fire that was already happening. Don't make that assumption.

Not necessarily. It is entirely possible that pressing the button saves the baby from a situation it was already in.

Well, you can't actually feel a 3rd degree burn since it destroyes the nerve endings where the burn is. It's the area AROUND the burn that is painful, so if your ENTIRE body has 3rd degree burns, you wouldn't feel pain.
