tehhypergamer, i'm fairly certain that Katy is referring to the tranformation that Tyler Lockwood goes through when he transforms into a werewolf. But you are right in one thing though, it's not a vampire, but i doubt that is what Katy meant :)

It doesn’t say you don’t have control over when you transform, it only says you can do it, so technically you could just press the button and if you never find any reason to use it then you could just live the rest of your life and nothing would have changed at all
