I feel like being immortal makes you insane. You watch as your family, friends, and entire human race is dying. Meanwhile, you're still there. So to me, there are two downsides here.

You are an absolutely boring person. This is the best you could imagine? So basically I lose the philosophical notion of humanity, not the physical one. And many notions of immortality often leave the person jaded and cynical, so human destruction as a result of immortality is a given.
