its a 1 in 700,000 chance one of the dead people will be someone you know and love. the percetage is so low that it writes to "1.0E-5%". people die all the time. no one will notice if theres a sudden increase for a second.

I suppose this depends, ten thousand people die all the time. If their deaths were a direct result of my choice to push the button then I would not. Since the question didn't specify a correlation I would press the button if there is none.
