To the 1912 morons who didn't press the button, you repair that you can't already turn invisible, right? So the two choices are: you can't turn invisible or you can, though you won't be able to see. There's literally no downside.

you don't even need to have any magic consequences to be unable to see while invisible. Since light passes through you if you"re invisible, you won't be able to collect it with your eyes.
