I'll go around uninhabited planets so as the only living being on them i can set a christmas day for each day of the earth. After that i can go back and forth any day i want.

It says you can "return" to earth every christmas so if I won't leave I can be on earth as long as I want. So technically the downside exists only when you use the power and even then it lasts only until christmas. I think the decision is clear.

it would be fun for a good amount of time, you would outlast earth, and would finish your exploration of the universe by well after the earth dies. You would eventually get bored in space, by your self. for all eternity. Have fun with your immortality. I will say no
